Finally in Belgium

Yay!! I am finally here after experiencing the longest day of my life. All up 33 hours of July 30. I left home at around 4.10 pm and was a good 30 mins early for the train to Central. Changed trains for the airport and arrived there just before 6.00 pm. I checked in then wandered around Duty Free city after going through customs.

Thai Airways have to be the best for food. I was so excited when the plane took off only to land in Brisbane an hour later where we sat around for approx. an hour and a half while they refueled the plane and cleaned it again.

Sooooooooooo shortly after midnight we finally take off and head north west deep into the night to Bangkok, but not before they serve dinner, can I sleep. The good thing about travelling at night is that your body clock in not thrown out and I was travelling back in time.

We arrived in Bangkok at around 6.10 am local time. I made friends with one of the girls sitting next to me so we wandered around the airport for the next 6 hours due to the lack of seating for those in transit. We cashed in $10 AUD and came out with like 170 Baht. So we could get a drink and if we were daring a bite to eat.

Finally I board the plane for the next leg of my journey. Eleven hours of flying sitting next to a German couple who really needed a room. I slept most of the time when I wasn't reading, (My Sister's Keeper).

It was the longest day of my life, all 33 hours of it.

I was glad to arrive in Germany and after a 30 min walk I finally made it to the baggage carousel to wait for like forever and praying my bag made it to Frankfurt with me. It did!!

I than found the Taxi's and enquired as to if they took a Visa which they don't but was told it will cost around 30 Euros to get to my Hotel.

So off we go doing 120 Kms on the wrong side of the road. Well the wrong side for us Aussies!! I finally arrive at my destination looking like soemthing that the cat dragged had dragged in. So I have that lovely hot shower and fall into bed and sleep through to the morning with the only english speaking channel CNN going all night. LOL!! (LOL mean lots of laughter for the those who don't know Net Speak).

I forgot that Europe is on Daylight Savings so it was a rush to pack my bag and get some breakfast down me, before leaving to catch the train into Frankfurt HBF before getting the train to Brussels.

Well everything went as smooth as silk until I showed my ticket on the train and they refused to accept it. The conductor was kind and said something about Copenhagen however the second one the bitch from hell threw me off the train and I was forced to buy another ticket to continue my journey to Brussels.

I finally made it an hour and a half later unable to enjoy my train trip, even though the second train was much nicer than Ice. I am going to contact my sister-in-law and file a complaint and ask what to do with the return journey ticket. Thank god I have a month to fix that up.

Anyway thats enough for now will write about Ghent tomorrow.
